Critics be damned.  Had a lovely meal at Janta this evening.  We walked in late – 9:30 – and the owner told us to come on in.  We were served quickly and the food was hot and good.  Level of spice was just right.  The wine list doesn’t fit the food at all (California cabernet, California chardonnay (ugh), a sweet gewurtztraminer, and a white zinfandel (barf)).  We ordered some wine anyway and made a point of enjoying it.  We were the last ones to leave but he never came by to give any indication of hurrying us out.  A good choice for a late bite.
