After nine years of serving uninventive Italian food, Bella Luna (on University near the Stanford Theater) has closed its doors. Not even Freddy Maddalena as the barker its final few weeks saved the restaurant from the fate I thought would have come a lot sooner. The landlord would like to find another restaurateur to take over the space so they have left everything intact; just look inside and see the place settings.

Meanwhile, over on Hamilton and Cowper, Siam Orchid has opened, serving organic Thai cuisine. I will report more when I get some first-hand feedback. They will need more dinner traffic than Robaii saw to pay the rent.
